About this piece
This gingham padded jacket for women is a playful, cozy layer with a sweet detail: two heart-shaped pockets trimmed with soft lace. The check pattern gives it a fresh, vintage-inspired look, the stand collar and button front keep the shape neat, and the padded body adds a little warmth for cooler days. The jacket is cut short and relaxed, so it sits around the hip and works easily over jeans, skirts and knitwear.
A drawstring hem lets you cinch the waist, and the long sleeves end in snug cuffs. The heart pockets are the focal point of the design, and each color has its own pocket fabric, from soft white fleece-style hearts on the black and white version to floral and striped hearts on the red one. It is offered in three colors, black and white, red and white and a pale blue-green gingham, in sizes S to L.

How to wear it
For a casual daytime outfit, wear the jacket buttoned over a white tee with straight-leg jeans and sneakers. For a softer look, pair it with a pleated skirt, knee-high socks and loafers. The black and white version goes with almost every color, the red check is a bright statement over denim and cream, and the pale blue version works well with white, beige and pastel knits. Because the length is short, it balances nicely with high-waisted bottoms and longer layers underneath, and the drawstring lets you adjust the shape throughout the day.

Check the care label inside the garment before cleaning. In general, padded jackets with lace and fabric trim keep their shape best when they are stored on a hanger and kept away from direct heat.

The customer service I received from Michelle and Muriel was absolutely outstanding. I had an issue with my hoodie, and they dealt with it promptly and professionally. Once I was happy with the options they offered, they arranged for a replacement hood to be sent out, and it arrived in no time. Obviously, delivery takes a little while, but that’s to be expected. One small thing to note is that the sizing seems to be a little off, so I’d recommend ordering the next size up to ensure a comfortable fit. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how the issue was handled. Michelle and Muriel are a credit to ATHENA Bodywear, and it’s refreshing to receive such excellent customer service. I’ll definitely be buying from ATHENA again. Great work, and thank you both for your help!

Delighted with the quality of both items. Haven’t bought Ralph Lauren for a few years. My only reservation is that across the men’s range they’re slightly on the smaller than ‘true to size. Normally for me XL leaves me a bit of room. With these they fit but are s bit ‘snug’.
